HISTORY…

Founded to give honest advice to job hunters, I’m Ovar It began in January 2018, launching an initiative on Instagram offering to rewrite women’s CVs for free. I’d read the book ‘Lean In’ by Sheryl Sandberg and was so disheartened by the studies she sites detailing how disliked women are when they build their careers, I knew I wanted to do something to help change that perception.

The original name ‘I’m Ovar It’ was born because I was…I was over it, however spelling Ovar with an ‘A’ vs. an ‘E’ was a subtle nod the the business being female focused, us all having ovaries.

Popularity grew and I rewrote hundreds of CVs spanning careers of all shapes and sizes, spending my weekends endlessly typing away until sadly it was no longer sustainable and I was inspired to create 4 core products; a CV rewrite, a service that would create a CV from scratch, and 2 programs of 4 one-on-one sessions that would coach you to either get a job, starting from zero, or progress your career from where you stood now.

With the emphasis sitting with the CV rewrites, I leant into that and built 2 highly detailed CV writing guides, 1 showing you how to edit your existing CV, the other how to write one from scratch, to ensure people had timeless information that would support them through every CV iteration. This would save them from re-purchasing the service with every job move, and from this I’ve naturally created the additional guides covering Cover Letter writing, LinkedIn writing and of course Interviewing.

Having launched I’m Ovar It 8 years’ ago, I’ve grown demonstrably in my own career and that’s naturally had an impact on the type of platform I’m Ovar It was and is today. January 2026 saw the launch of ‘Ovar and Ovar’ the original name I registered the company under, as if I always knew I wanted to create a perpetually evolving platform for both candidates and recruiters alike.

Today this growing platform not only offers digital guides for candidates, but has allowed me to launch a Newsletter for professionals in the talent space, and I’m building a suite of frameworks for talent teams to leverage and build from too, tools that people will use Ovar & Ovar again.
